In the process of updating the upcoming sedan will be equipped with semi-Autonomous driving system, which is already applied to E-Class. This publication reports AutoEvolution.
The system works as follows: detectors and sensors collect information about what is happening around the car, the computer then analyzes this data and is able to take control at speeds of up to 210 kilometers per hour. According to the publication, the car is able to “navigate” on roads without markings, but in this case, the speed should not exceed 130 kilometers per hour. The company strongly recommends that drivers keep hands on the wheel during operation of the autopilot.
The debut of the updated S-Class is scheduled for the second half of this year – it is not excluded that the premiere will be held at the motor show in Paris in autumn.
